Camp Lejeune Water Litigation – Client Update

Just a quick update:

Your legal team meets with your claims review representative at the Department of the Navy (DON) each month. The DON continues to review claims that qualify for the Elective Option (EO) Settlement Program, including the injuries we outlined in our April newsletter. Those conditions include:

Kidney Cancer, Liver Cancer, Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, Leukemias, Bladder Cancer, Multiple Myeloma, Parkinson’s Disease, Kidney Disease/End Stage Renal Disease, and Systemic Sclerosis (Systemic Scleroderma).

It is important to note that the DON is applying a “latency” or timing requirement to all qualifying Elective Option (EO) claims. This means:

The diagnosis or treatment must have occurred at least two (2) years after first exposure and no more than thirty-five (35) years after last exposure.

As noted in our October 2025 update, the DON appointed two Settlement Masters to work on a broader, global settlement plan that was expected by the end of 2025. Unfortunately, we have not received details about that plan, a timeline for rollout, or whether the October government shutdown delayed its progress.

We will continue to monitor developments and will send a detailed update as soon as more information becomes available.

Thank you again for your service and for trusting the Blalock team to represent you.

Also, as a reminder, please always update our team for any address, email or phone number changes. Updates may be sent to Brooke’s attention at brooket@blalocklegal.com or 205-201-0264
